This is a workshop which guides you to enjoy the "pain" of stretching and a heightened experience of the "qi" of yoga.
You will learn to appreciate that even for yoga, the saying "No pain, no gain" is so true. Your problem may be that you do not know how to deal with pain. This workshop will help you to befriend "pain", it will teach you how to differentiate the different kinds and levels of pain and respond to it accordingly. You may not believe it, but you can really overcome your limits and reach a new level of flexibility in just one hour. On the spiritual side, when you have learnt to enjoy pain, your brain will be prompted to release endorphin which gives you a sensation of pleasure. Getting accustomed to face pain with a relaxed mind also builds our stamina and enables us to face pressure with calmness and composure. This is, therefore, a kind of spiritual training as well.
What is "qi"? While we hold a difficult posture, you will feel numbness in affected areas. Learn to relax and persist in the numbness; and then when you release from the hold, you will feel a surge of heat in these affected areas. This heat is actually a flush of blood which goes through your body, a close embodiment of the subtle "qi" or "prana" which is always mentioned but seldom comprehended by beginners. You will learn how to benefit from this "qi", how it helps take away toxic elements and how it improves blood circulation and metabolism without burdening the heart.
This is a workshop which advances both your body and mind and it is a totally revitalizing experience. It is suitable for all levels of practitioners.

In yoga, we devote a lot of time on our muscles. Sometimes we build strength, sometimes we build flexibility. But what most beginners ignore is the opening of joints, especially some of the minor joints which we do not use very often. The opening of joints is in fact vital to the enhancement of our health.
